Hassocks to Ditchling Beacon Circular Walk (Self-Guided)

A scenic South Downs walk from Hassocks up to Ditchling Beacon, with rolling hills, open views, and a proper countryside feel. It’s a self-guided community walk — we’ll meet up and follow the route together using AllTrails (no guide or leader).

What to expect

The route heads out from Hassocks towards Clayton, gradually climbing into the Downs.

Along the way, you’ll pass the well-known Jack and Jill Windmills — a great spot to pause and take in the views. From there, the walk continues up to Ditchling Beacon before looping back.

There are a few steady climbs, but we’ll keep a relaxed, social pace with time to stop along the way.
