Community Guidelines
Our aim is simple: to create a friendly, welcoming community where people can enjoy the outdoors, make new friends and feel comfortable joining activities, whether it's their first meetup or their hundredth. By joining Brighton Outdoors, you agree to following guidelines.

Be kind and welcoming
Many people come on their own for the first time. A smile, a chat or introducing yourself can make a huge difference. Please help create the kind of community you'd like to be part of.

Treat everyone with respect
Treat everyone with kindness and respect. Bullying, harassment, discrimination, intimidation or unwanted behaviour towards other members will not be tolerated. Please respect personal boundaries and remember that everyone is here to enjoy themselves.

Help keep the community positive
It's completely normal not to get on with everyone. If you have a disagreement, please deal with it respectfully and avoid arguments or personal attacks in our WhatsApp groups, at meetups or on social media.

Take responsibility for yourself
Brighton Outdoors is a community-led group. You are responsible for your own decisions, safety and wellbeing. Only take part in activities that match your abilities, experience and comfort level.
Please read any activity-specific guidance before attending.

Respect nature
Please help us protect the places we visit. Leave no trace, respect wildlife and take your litter home.

Book if you're coming
Where possible, please sign up before attending a meetup. If your plans change, cancel your booking so others know what to expect.

Respect people's privacy
Please ask before taking close-up photos of someone and respect anyone who doesn't wish to appear in photos or videos.

Lift sharing
Lift sharing between members is entirely voluntary. If you arrange a lift, it is a private agreement between those involved. Please see our Lift Sharing Policy for more information.

Weather
Unless we announce otherwise, our activities go ahead.
We only cancel or postpone events when weather conditions make them unsafe.

Our commitment
Our aim is to create a safe, welcoming and enjoyable community for everyone.
If these guidelines are repeatedly or seriously breached, we may ask a member to leave Brighton Outdoors or remove access to our events, WhatsApp groups or membership.
Thank you for helping make Brighton Outdoors a place where everyone feels welcome. 💚
